Green day working on new stuff!

Finally one of our wishes has become true, and Green day just posted they are back on work with a new record.
This is quite a surprise as they didn't look too much willing to make it.
Since their latest tour on 2010, when they recorded their live CD and DVD "Awesome as fuck", they haven`t done too much public appearances as a band. Billie Joe and the rest of the band didn't seem interested in playing on. They gave a pair of surprise shows in California but that's all. They didn't seem to focus on Green Day. They didn't tweet, and in addition Billie Joe started a proyect with his own family: the boo band.

Some people even started thinking Billie was going through a middle life crisis or something.
But they just posted via twitter that they are together and working on a brand new record.
We don't know if this new one, will contain all the tracks they have played in their latest shows such as Carpe Diem, Amy or cigarettes and Vallentines; what is sure is that it'll be amazing.
Firts, Billie Joe posted "Happy Valantine's day! Officially started recording the new record today.
It's FUCK TIME!!!!"And a bit later from the official twitter of Green Day they posted it as well, they even included a video on which we can see Rob Cavallo in the studio so we guess he is gonna be the producer of the album.
The video:

Here you have the link in case you cannot watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=v-eODEc2HZA

We cannot wait for this new work to come out and of course a new tour- It's obvious that all this is not made just in a couple of months, this is gonna take a lot of time, but we are the waiting, arent we?

So it looks like we won't have to wait too much long for a new album of this guys, who in my opinion are one of the most honest and special bands in the world.
We don't know, but maybe this album is as revolutionary as American idiot was in 2004 or influences a new punkrock explosion like Dookie did in 1994.
Guess we'll know soon!!
Thanks for reading

A man called Miquel

Today I wanted to talk to you about one person who I've recently met and admire. His name is Miquel, from Barcelona. And this man has dedicated his entire life to music.
When Miquel was 10, he started learning to play guitar all by himself, and some years later a friend of his asked M for helping and teaching him. That was the moment when he realized he wanted to do that all his life.
Moreover, in Barcelona he owned a bar which organized plenty of gigs, shows and stuff: the blues and rock cafe. Of course he enjoyed it so much, he could invite all the bands he wanted to, but don’t believe it was easy. Cos he always thought that it was fair to pay to the bands, and expectators didn’t make big contributions so the trade-off was not always beneficial, in fact he used to lose money. But the thing is that he had his own bar and he enjoyed each moment.
But what’s still better: Miquel took part in a rock band, he was the lead guitarist but in addition he wrote most of the songs and was the responsible of the final fits. They become pretty known around Barcelona, but they separate due to some arguments they had.
His last step: M came to Madrid with his girl where he has been living for a few months. He’s still teaching in his own studio-conservatory called “Rockservatory”.
As far as I know, he listens to every kind of music and he can’t choose his favorite style. He likes blues, he likes heavy..what to listen to just depends on the situation. In fact, he’s still learning and adapting to the new changes and waves, which naturally come out over the time.
So here we got a person who has been able to dedicate his entire life to music; showing us that we only need some motivation to reach our goals. Because if you want to be in the world of music, you don’t have to be a superstar, there are so many other ways: management, Tv, radio, education, media..it’s all up to you. we only have to be brave, go ahead and try our best.
Go for your dreams, little rockers.
Here's a link to his website where he describes a little bit his workspace, with many technology and stuff, including a Gibson I'm in love with

Foo fighters taking over the world!

Its been a great year for this not so old rockers from America, after the release of their last record "Wasting Light", all they've done is winning awards and rocking the whole world touring and blasting every audience they played for. Last achievement?, they won 4 out of the 6 grammys they were nominated. "Best rock performance" for walk, "best hard rock/metal performance" for white limo, "best rock song" for walk once again and "best rock album" for wasting light. No one can deny that they totally deserved those awards, its been a while since this guys from Seattle have been playing together and, though they've gone through a lot of hard times with people leaving the band or even the band itself having troubles between each other, they have gotten to a point where no one can bring them down, hells yeah they are strong as hell!!.

Their last record, "wasting light" is a master piece and they have shown that in every show they've played and even in every award they've won. And the fact is that, the album itself isn't great only because the songs are pure beauty and rock, it is a wonderful album because it has been recorded in a garage!!, and the whole recording process has been done on tape!.For those who are not in the studio and recording world, the fact of doing the album in a garage implies not having all the equipment bands normally have but, don't get me wrong, they did have very good equipment, i mean, dave growl(singer) is not poor at all and can afford having a recording studio at his house. And the other fact about the tape is that, when you record an album as bands normally do nowadays, you record the song like if it was an mp3 file(to say it in a simple way), when recording this way, it is very easy to redo or to fix parts that you don't like of the song, you can do a lot of takes of it. But, when you record on tape, you have no chance to fail, the result you hear in the album is the exact thing the guys played in the studio, there aren't any fixes at all. All this work done on the album couldn't have been possible without the intervention of Butch Vig, who produced it,  for those who hear this name for the first time Butch also produced an album called "nevermind" by a band known as "Nirvana". ;), there are also some important participations such as Nirvana's bass player Krist Novoselic(I should have known), and also Husker Dü's Bob Mould(Dear rosemary).
All in all, the record has everything you need to achieve a great rock album, it has no electronic stuff or weird sounds,"it has bigass guitar, rock out drum rhythms, huge bass lines, and dave grohl singing with Taylor Hawkings(drums) on the back vocals, pureness everywhere" as Dave Grohl said in an interview.
With the release of their last record, they also released a film called "Back and forth", if you can, watch it, it tells you the story of the band told by the members and their own experiences and opinions about all the things they've gone through. Actually, this movie won yesterday grammy for best long form music video, here you have the trailer:

In addition to this news, the band also released a new video for their new single "These days", one of the most inspirational songs of the album. The album shows videos of the band's last tours in Australia and New Zealand, it amazingly describes how great and shocking their shows can be. In fact, to promote their last record, the foo fighters decided that if the album was recorded in a garage, the first venues to see it live had to be garages too!, so they told their fans to let their garages for playing there and so on establish a garage national tour, want to see a little documental of it of it?:

I really do hope this guys keep rocking 'til the day they cannot physically do it so we can enjoy them for a very long time as we have been since the day the band was formed.

Just to end, if you want to see the whole record played from Dave's Grohl studio check this sh*t out!!:

A band you did not know, "Young the Giant".

Hi everybody, this post is gonna be about one of the greatest discoveries of the past year. It is pretty exciting because the person who introduced me this band was Ali, Zebrahead's singer, during our interview(you can read it in this blog) he told me he was listening to a band from the area he grew up which was very good.
This band, Young the Giant, from Irvine, California, released their first record in 2010 and, though they are not very known nowadays, they've made some achievements that are leading them to the right way. One of this achievements was performing at the VMA's last year, this performance led the band to the top charts and also, their last tour with very known band "Incubus" , gave them new chances to play more shows and let people hear their music.
This alternative rock band has a very single and special sound, something in the way between indie rock and alternative rock, their record, entitled as the band "Young the Giant", mixes shaky and summertime tunes with relaxed and chill out songs. This two difference could be made comparing their two latest hits "My body" and "Cough Syrup".
Another very good aspect about this band is the fact that they do sound better live that in the studio, the band has took advantage of this skill and has made some "In the open" sessions with some of their songs.
Here I let you listen to their songs, I hope you like them as much as I do.

My body:

Cough syrup:

Here you have the "In the open" sessions I told you before:
I got.

A relaxed song, God made man:

seriously,this is pure music:
