Sonisphere festival, another festival cancelled!

The news were leaked yesterday by "Queen" who was going to participate and headline the festival with Adam Lambert playing vocals.
Today, the organization has confirmed the sad news, there is not going to be "Sonisphere Knebworth" festival this year. There are lots of speculations about the reason why the festival won't take place, the main one, the poor ticket sales, which leads to an impossibility of handling a festival such as the Sonisphere.

The line-up included bands like "Kiss", "Faith no more", "Queen", "Refused", "Marylin Manson", "Evanescence" and so many bands that won't be playing any longer the festival.
This is the message from the organization:

It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012.
Putting the festival together in what is proving to be a very challenging year was more difficult than we anticipated and we have spent the last few months fighting hard to keep Sonisphere in the calendar. Unfortunately circumstances have dictated that we would be unable to run the festival to a standard that both the artists and that Sonisphere’s audience would rightly expect.
We want to express our deepest regrets to the artists and to thank all the staff, suppliers and contractors who worked so hard with us to try and pull off what has proven to be an impossible task and we know how much they share in our disappointment.  We also want to send a huge thanks to the Sonisphere fans who stuck by us and we are so sorry that we can’t fulfil what we set out to do.
Ticket holders will automatically receive a full refund direct from their ticket agents.
Team Sonisphere.

This cancellation adds up tho a list of cancelled festivals that gets bigger everyday, "Oxegen","The big chill" and even the iconic "Glastonbury".

We hope this list doesn't get any bigger.

"Billy Talent" releasing new album in July!!!

The rock band from Toronto has announced that their sixth album will be released in July this year!. Their frontman Benjamin Kowalewicz recently said:

"Things are fantastic now! This record has been a really amazing experience right the way through. We haven't put any pressure on ourselves, nor have we set any unnecessary restrictions or boundaries. The dynamics of the band are really happy at the moment and that's definitely coming across in the songs!"

The band has been recently struggling with drummer's heart illness and due to this they have been forced to cancelled "Groezrock" festival show. This is the message Aaron sent:

A message from Aaron
I never thought I would have to write another letter like this. In March of 2006, I wrote a letter telling you all I have MS. Now I am writing to tell you that I have a problem with my heart that needed to be fixed. On Feb 2nd, I had open-heart surgery to repair a leaky aortic valve. It’s going to take a couple of months before I start feeling normal again. In the meantime Jonny, Ben and Ian will be putting the finishing touches on our new record. I finished all of my drums in December so I’m going to take the next few months to get better. Unfortunately, we are going to have to pull out of playing Groezrock in Belgium in April. We were really looking forward to this as it was the perfect show to start touring this record. So many of our friends will be there and to share the stage with Refused was a dream come true. To all our fans in Belgium, we promise we will make this up to you. For now, please look forward to a new single soon and new album in July.
The surgery went perfect but healing takes a while. No other shows will be affected and I look forward to seeing you all in the summer.
Aaron

We are very sure that  Aaron is already good and recovering for the cray summer that the band has set full of festivals, including "Reading and Leeds".
Stay tuned for more info about the album

Slam Dunk Festival 2012!

Another crazy festival is set for this spring season, the "Slam Dunk Festival" is a very known british festival brought up by "Slam Dunk Records"(known for bands like "You me at six") which is made of punk/rock/ska bands from all over the world and that is split in two days for two different places.
On the one hand we have the "Slam Dunk North(Leeds)" and on the other one the"Slam dunk South(Hertfordshire)".
The line-up for this year's festival is crazy and full of great bands like "Taking Back Sunday", "Motion City Soundtrack", "Cartel", "Set your goals", "Forever the sickest kids", "Zebrahead" and many more bands all around 7 different stages supported by entities like"Kerrang!" and "Vans".

It is great to see that this kind of festivals are very faithful to their roots and still offer a wide branch of bands very well known for their live sets.

This year's edition is not going to have a very powerful ska participation due to the big one displayed last year, but, anyway, in my opinion, the line-up is awesomely awesome.
If I lived in England i surely would go there as that kind of line-up cannot be seen in all festivals, so british people, go and share your experiences with us!
