Hey there! Today we're here to tell you about the last show we've attended.
As it was the 20 anniversary of MxPx, they has estarted a tour, but they are not alone, but joined by three more super bands: Cancer, Daylight and A wilhelm scream!
The first one to play was Cancer
Then the spaniards Daylight came onstage:
They are one of the most famous punkrock bands in Spain, in fact, some of the people was there just to see this band. And in addition to their niceness, they were quite powerful on stage, the bad thing about their performance was the same as the previous one, the people was distasteful and didn't wanna participate in the show. But that's not our style and despite it was our first time with daylight we tried to do our best.
Later was the turn for A Wilhelm Scream to made us jump.
They are quite good, with a style between hardcore and punkrock. In this case the people jumped, screamed their lungs out, did stage diving and everything you can imagine. I'm pretty sure this band will have a very good future in the music business, their shows are powerful and they fill the stage with energy and punk craziness.
After a crazy show given by "A Wilhelm Scream" it was time for "MxPx All Stars" to go on stage.
Talking a little bit about this band, the "All Stars" part of the band's name is given due to the absence of band's members Tom and Yuri, who are very busy with their current projects so they cannot make a Europe Tour. So that's why Mike Herrera has asked his friends from Switzerland "Cancer" to join him onstage as "MxPx All Stars". You may think that so on they band will sound different but believe me, not at all.
The show was completely surrounded by that feeling of being in a very 90's punk reunion with all your friends. The setlist was filled with hits from their old days, mixing with punk anthems like "Chick Magnet", "Responsibility" or "Secret Weapon", and we were also able to listen to new tunes from their last record "Plans Within Plans" such as "Aces Up", "Far Away", or "Screw Loose".
As I said before, the show was a punk show for real, there were mosh pits, stage diving and fast songs.
At the middle of the show, Mike Herrera went onstage all alone to play a mini set of acoustic songs where he showed the crowd his guitar and vocal skills, which in my opinion were incredible. He played songs like "Doing Time" and also songs from his folk punk side-project "Tumbledown".
Check this acoustic version of "Late Again":
The show ended with band's anthem "Punk Rawk Show", closing a magic punky night.
This is a punk rock show:
Before ending, just giving special thanks to all the guys of all the bands, who were very nice and did not have any problem is coming downstage and saying hi to the fans.
