Foo fighters taking over the world!

Its been a great year for this not so old rockers from America, after the release of their last record "Wasting Light", all they've done is winning awards and rocking the whole world touring and blasting every audience they played for. Last achievement?, they won 4 out of the 6 grammys they were nominated. "Best rock performance" for walk, "best hard rock/metal performance" for white limo, "best rock song" for walk once again and "best rock album" for wasting light. No one can deny that they totally deserved those awards, its been a while since this guys from Seattle have been playing together and, though they've gone through a lot of hard times with people leaving the band or even the band itself having troubles between each other, they have gotten to a point where no one can bring them down, hells yeah they are strong as hell!!.

Their last record, "wasting light" is a master piece and they have shown that in every show they've played and even in every award they've won. And the fact is that, the album itself isn't great only because the songs are pure beauty and rock, it is a wonderful album because it has been recorded in a garage!!, and the whole recording process has been done on tape!.For those who are not in the studio and recording world, the fact of doing the album in a garage implies not having all the equipment bands normally have but, don't get me wrong, they did have very good equipment, i mean, dave growl(singer) is not poor at all and can afford having a recording studio at his house. And the other fact about the tape is that, when you record an album as bands normally do nowadays, you record the song like if it was an mp3 file(to say it in a simple way), when recording this way, it is very easy to redo or to fix parts that you don't like of the song, you can do a lot of takes of it. But, when you record on tape, you have no chance to fail, the result you hear in the album is the exact thing the guys played in the studio, there aren't any fixes at all. All this work done on the album couldn't have been possible without the intervention of Butch Vig, who produced it,  for those who hear this name for the first time Butch also produced an album called "nevermind" by a band known as "Nirvana". ;), there are also some important participations such as Nirvana's bass player Krist Novoselic(I should have known), and also Husker Dü's Bob Mould(Dear rosemary).
All in all, the record has everything you need to achieve a great rock album, it has no electronic stuff or weird sounds,"it has bigass guitar, rock out drum rhythms, huge bass lines, and dave grohl singing with Taylor Hawkings(drums) on the back vocals, pureness everywhere" as Dave Grohl said in an interview.
With the release of their last record, they also released a film called "Back and forth", if you can, watch it, it tells you the story of the band told by the members and their own experiences and opinions about all the things they've gone through. Actually, this movie won yesterday grammy for best long form music video, here you have the trailer:

In addition to this news, the band also released a new video for their new single "These days", one of the most inspirational songs of the album. The album shows videos of the band's last tours in Australia and New Zealand, it amazingly describes how great and shocking their shows can be. In fact, to promote their last record, the foo fighters decided that if the album was recorded in a garage, the first venues to see it live had to be garages too!, so they told their fans to let their garages for playing there and so on establish a garage national tour, want to see a little documental of it of it?:

I really do hope this guys keep rocking 'til the day they cannot physically do it so we can enjoy them for a very long time as we have been since the day the band was formed.

Just to end, if you want to see the whole record played from Dave's Grohl studio check this sh*t out!!:
