Today I
wanted to talk to you about one person who I've recently met and admire. His name
is Miquel, from Barcelona. And this man has dedicated his entire life to music.
When Miquel
was 10, he started learning to play guitar all by himself, and some years later
a friend of his asked M for helping and teaching him. That was the moment when
he realized he wanted to do that all his life.
Moreover,
in Barcelona he owned a bar which organized plenty of gigs, shows and stuff:
the blues and rock cafe. Of course he enjoyed it so much, he could invite all
the bands he wanted to, but don’t believe it was easy. Cos he always thought
that it was fair to pay to the bands, and expectators didn’t make big
contributions so the trade-off was not always beneficial, in fact he used to
lose money. But the thing is that he had his own bar and he enjoyed each
moment.
But what’s
still better: Miquel took part in a rock band, he was the lead guitarist but in
addition he wrote most of the songs and was the responsible of the final fits.
They become pretty known around Barcelona, but they separate due to some
arguments they had.
His last
step: M came to Madrid with his girl where he has been living for a few months.
He’s still teaching in his own studio-conservatory called “Rockservatory”.
As far as I
know, he listens to every kind of music and he can’t choose his favorite style.
He likes blues, he likes heavy..what to listen to just depends on the
situation. In fact, he’s still learning and adapting to the new changes and waves, which naturally come out over the time.
So here we
got a person who has been able to dedicate his entire life to music; showing us
that we only need some motivation to reach our goals. Because if you want to be
in the world of music, you don’t have to be a superstar, there are so many
other ways: management, Tv, radio, education, media..it’s all up to you. we only have to
be brave, go ahead and try our best.
Go for your
dreams, little rockers.
Here's a link to his website where he describes a little bit his workspace, with many technology and stuff, including a Gibson I'm in love with
